Headlights...
#21
Old thread UPDATE....

I finally got around to changing my headlights.
The sealed beam lights in there were GE Halagens, I'm thinking they were the originals.
They were quite dim.

Looked at several new versions and led sets... Settled on GE Nighthawks, $20 bucks each.
So, after my cash credits, I basically got a buy one, get one, yay baby!

I ordered replacements from Amazon on cyber Monday, got them on Tuesday.
Installed them. Turned them on and they were up and running.
I'm thinking good to go. We went out for dinner tonight, and the new bulbs are soooo much brighter with no additional adjustments. Freakin Awesummmm!

But, as we stopped at the grocery store, Sandy noticed the left low beam was out.
But the high beam worked.

OMG! Contacted Amazon, and they said a replacement will be here tomorrow.
More updates coming, lol!!
Thx, Dan'l

I used to have the rectangular Hella lights on a VW Rabbit (Same size as the Chevy Express) and they were amazing. Can't remember the wattage I was running off hand...They were NOT DOT legal, but if aimed correctly, nobody (including PA State inspection) had a problem with them. The only way you could tell that they weren't legal is they lacked small glass protrusions on the lens that I believe are supposed to be used for aiming the lights. I'm thinking they aren't REALLY needed to aim the light.

Amazon came thru for me and sent a good one.
Installed, and happy, happy so far!
Sent defective one back for credit...

I guess we shall see what the lifespan of these will be.

Express passenger vans have different lights than Express cargo vans. Which is yours?
Someone wanted me to put this here: http://rollingsteeltent.blogspot.com/

Mine are the larger, almost squareish sealed beams.

I wish they were the bulb in a housing kind, but no.

Thx for asking!
