A Women's RTR!
#11
Maybe you need to set up a hair cutting station right at the rtr. Bet there will be more than a few that are overdue. Probably help to fund your trip.

After hearing feedback at the Women's Meetings during previous RTRs (Rubber Tramp Rendezvous), and after reading several requests in this forum for a women's get together, we are offering a Women's RTR. So, after attending the main RTR from January 11th to 21st, continue to camp with other women from the 22nd to 24th.

Suanne, will they make us leave after 14 days? I am tentatively planning on arriving Saturday or Sunday, the weekend before the 11th. Thanks!

I believe the rule is that after 14 days, you must move at least 25 miles to a different camp on BLM land. That being said, I've only heard of it being enforced in Quartzite in the winter one time when that person was in the same location for over a month, at least. You may want to post your question in the Boondocking forum to see what the full membership would advise.

As far as I know, it's still against BLM rules to sell any product or service on BLM land.  I know, at past RTRs, others have provided haircuts for a donation.

This makes me want to push to retire 6 months early. So very awesome! Thank you for thinking of this. I have some deep thinking to do now.

Have to say all the topics are of interest to me. I just started a new hobby that I hope will work well on the road.

Oh my goodness! Suanne and Bob, you guys rock!!! If we could have a Women's RTR, I'd definitely be there! This would be a God-send! I know the main RTR will be awesome and informative, but having a Women's RTR would just be the greatest, the bestest, the....I don't even know what to say, other than how grateful I would be. And I'm sure I speak for a ton of women! THANK YOU!!!

I wasn't planning on going this year, but...you just upped the ante. 2200 miles for me to get there and that many back. I worry about the weather, esp coming back home. Anyone else going from the midwest? If I come it would be in my car. Much better gas mileage.  To go or not to go? I am a real wimp in the snow. Maybe I'll just stay all winter and let my husband deal with things at home?  I want to go, I really do . I've wanted to go since rtr was 'big' at 30 some attendees. I  havent had anything to look forward to for along time...maybe?  Nora

This is an excellent idea, especially the matching up of experienced vandwellers with newbies. I have had to rough it up for eight months on my own. I think I got it now, but I still have a lot to learn.  Do you have experienced members ready to help?
