I used to run a school bus garage in the eastern Kentucky mountains, the state finally outlawed the use of tire chains on school buses to make district superintendents call off school for snow as bus drivers didn't get paid if school was out and exerted a lot of potical pressure because school districs are the biggest employers in some counties. Nothing like doing donuts in a 64 passenger stub nose bus!

I can no longer make "SHORT BUS" jokes... my 1992 GMC Rally STX is registered in Florida as a "heavy short bus" - now I drive the short bus.
I'm never lost... I'm exploring alternative destinations.  Rolleyes

Growing up in the Manzano Mtns in New Mexico, we had a 4x4 "short bus" pick us up for school at the end of the pavement........
Talk about no snow days, that little bus would plow through anything. I swear the driver was having way too much fun sometimes.
