Anyone have experience with this type of insulation?

I used to work at a cold storage where that kind of foam was used to insulate pipes carrying cold refrigerant to prevent frost build up. It's heavy when compared to rigid insulation.

It looks like what was used in my old place of work. 1" thick made for a soft seat pad. It was a rubber foam sleep mat. It never took on any moisture. They lined air conditioning ducts with it in a steamy humid environment.
