After breakfast on a beautiful Sunday morning, the old fart and I decided to go to the annual flea market that was in town. I wanted to see if there was anything I just couldn't live without and check out the vendors set up, as I know most are living out of their rigs.

Took a side road and lo and behold, there was a car with a sign on it, I had been looking for one of these for a long time. Am now the proud owner of an '07 Pontiac Vibe, for the price of $1500 cash. One owner. My daughter spent most of the afternoon with me cleaning it up, she sure needed it. Will need a wiring issue fixed soon (radio wired wrong, have to disconnect from battery to keep a charge), would like it tinted. Front tires are great, back ones will need replacing at some point. But who cares?? It was $1500! Smile Runs good, A/C and heat work.

Has some dings to her, but don't really care. Gas mileage for me just jumped way up. Will be selling my other vehicle and pocketing the difference. Researching on if it's a decent towable on my RV, it's automatic is the problem (would have preferred standard, but won't complain). Have also read how some camp out of these vehicles, so will for SURE be looking in to that. Price difference on gas vs. taking the RV is nothing to turn your nose at. The dash even has a 115V plug in, sweet!

Just as a personal question.. how does some let their cars get so dirty??? I had a Honda I drove for 4 years without vacuuming it once, didn't need it. I traded it off for top dollar without having to clean it at all. Just don't understand how some people can just let trash build up is all. It would drive me bonkers! Cool

Oh... and the only thing that followed me home from the flea market, other than my new-to-me wheels, is 2 baking dishes. I cook a lot. Big Grin

My best friend's car is like that. Piles of papers, fast food bags and miscellaneous other items scattered throughout. My dad was much the same in how he kept his vehicles. I don't get it either. I'm not exactly Mr. Meticulous when it comes to keeping my vehicles clean, but aside from a stack of comic books in the passenger seat, I'm pretty good about keeping things picked up.
My van has that "lived in" look most of the time. I really try to keep it tidy and made a huge console to hold things out of sight. Problem is, most of the time there is so much stuff on top that opening it would cause a major mess. Ashtray, cigarettes, lighter, reading and sun glasses, wallet, grocery store receipts, cordless drill, screws, dog leash, you get the idea. Once I'm actually finished with the decorating phase, I'll be able to put away the tools. I really want my Toy Poodles to be able to ride next to me so tomorrow is van cleaning day for me too.

I did OK myself yesterday. I bought a split window VW Van in good condition for 50 cents.

trash is one thing dirt is another. some people live in dirty environments, some people have dirty jobs. I am in the last two categories. highdesertranger
