The Lone Pine Interagency visitors center just got a free nice new handout on the BLM Alabama Hills area.  It's a popular boondocking spot and many movies were shot here, starting in the 1920's.  Turtle Creek campground ($5) has better cell signals than most of the area, and the dump station appears to be open.  Visitors center is a the corner of 395 and 136.
The Alabama Hillis is in California on the east side of Sierras. It's one of my top ten favorite places in the country.
