Thought I'd share this.
Its at WalMart $10
I have not found one that's approved for potable water. Guy is also right they need a restriction to expand. highdesertranger
Somewhere along the line, I picked up one of these, I think it's a 50 footer.

Very handy and drinking water safe.

Just recently threw two of them away. One had been used about a week, the other was first time use. Leaks all over. Might work for a soaker hose. To be fair they were bought about two years ago and only recently hooked up. The second one had never been taken out of the packaging or utility room though.
I was at Home depot looking at those expandable hoses , it had plastic end fittings which I didn't like so I ended up buying a Marine 25 footer , its light weight and easy to use , it did take me a little effort to get it rolled back up after I used it but I can say I really like it .
I bought one for a customers place and it sucks. The flow is low and when you turn it on the hose gets shorter due to the pressure being released. You could rinse you deck, maybe wash a car but nothing serious.

Save the 'broken' ones--they make a great toy for teenagers!

(1) Cut off the metal or plastic end (outlet) all the way back to the point of breakage and trash this section
(2) With the remainder, (inlet fitting and hose portion) cutaway about a foot of the outer fabric to expose the inner tubing (about 12") on the outlet end
(3) Tie a knot on the end of this exposed inner tubing
(4) Stand back (FAR BACK) and turn on the water SLOWLY.....makes a GIANT water snake ballon that sounds like an M80 when it goes off.

Lots of fun if you don't stand too close!    You can repeat this many times.... if your hose is long enough Tongue
I used to run a hardware store. Sold some of these hoses. Some customers said they loved them. But, more often than not, the people that had them for any duration eventually reported they failed etc.

LOL......That might bring Homeland Security.
The problem I saw is that every time ya want to use it you have to unroll the entire length.
