Has anyone tried to sleep over night at a Walmart with a dog? I'm thinking of trying tonight.

All the time. Park along the edge so you can take your pup out for walkies on the grass. Just watch out for edible garbage like fragments of pizza, hotdogs, etc., because you never know. Do you have specific concerns/worries?

Just don't want her to bark too much and make it obvious I'm there. Smile

It'll be obvious you are there regardless.
Cars at the edge of the lot at wally world always look like they are occupied.

I overnighted *once* at one in my motorhome. One other RV and a bunch of cars and a van. All had occupants.

Some dickhead opened my waste valves a bit so when I showered the next day, I left a puddle. Not cool. I lock that compartment now. I think it was the guy in the neon whom my headlights shined into his car while I parked.

The vehicle makes it obvious you're there.

Cool
Alas, having a pet makes everything much harder to do.

As for being inconspicuous, I try not to park at the back of the lot. Instead, I park in amongst the night workers so I blend in and am not so noticeable.

EDIT: I should also note that I am not really trying to hide--I don't park in places where I am actively not wanted. But I try to stay as unnoticed as possible to avoid attracting attention.
Update:

It wasn't that bad. She didn't bark much through the night. When I got here, there was at least 3 semis and a few cars, one of which someone was sleeping in. So it's all good.

Also glass!  Can't tell ya how many times I've seen broken glass at the edges of lots, or in among the plants and hedges.  I keep a REALLY tight rein on the leash until I'm sure there's nothing close by that looks in the least dangerous.
True! Glass is a constant hazard. I'm constantly picking it up at dispersed campsites. I finally bought one of those picker-upper grabber things so I don't have to risk my paws picking up other people's detritus. The edges of Wal-Marts often look like the city dump. If they used a few of their precious dollars to pay someone to clean....what am I saying? They know we shop there anyway.
