I am a very accomplished Dutch Oven cook, and particularly like to bake bread in mine. Smile

I mostly re-heated food with mine, but did bake a few pies in it. Seriously enjoyed it as a minimalist way of cooking.

Yes. Mostly bread and chicken, when I use it. Often put veggies down at the bottom and chicken on top, let the chicken fat naturally baste the veggies as it all cooks together.

To all - do you usually use your dutch oven over a campfire, or inside your van, or ... other?

RE: Dutch oven cooking - WanderingRose - 11-14-2018

I do both.

yes both on stove and over campfire. in fact when baking, coals work better then stove top because you can heat from the bottom and top. highdesertranger

So, after having your dutch oven in the camp fire, how do you clean it on the outside so you can use it inside again?
