Metal brake lines do not wear out. Having 90% of the brake lines replaced tells me rust issues. Michigan uses a lot of salt on their roads in the winter.

My Nevada van is 33. Original brake lines, no rust. I also have a 41 year old RV No rust. Here we have other problems like the Sun cooks everything eventually. A pair of windshield wiper blades don't last a summer. Some people cover them with pipe insulation. That also gets cooked, but is easy and cheap to replace.
