Of course you are all correct in wanting that guy who likes to fix things and can lift stuff over his head. Those are critical virtues in a man when you own stuff that needs fixing.
I already met my guy through an internet dating site who can lift things overhead and loves to fix things and make things. Of course if I ever wear him out I might have to go shopping for a new one. But he is still holding up pretty good for a 76 year old dude. When I met him he said "I am never going to be retired". I snared him with the line in my personal add that said...."I think going to the hardware store is a great dating activity".
As to younger guys, I would have to spend too much time teaching them how to fix stuff and they would get mad if I tried to show them how it should be done. I have no patience with people who can't be trained properly.
But yesterday I did find an old dude, must be in his 80s to do some welding on the trailer frame. Bonus points, he comes complete with fancy Titanium knees and his own welding machine! Also he is not charging for labor, just for supplies. He just likes to work on projects and restore vintage vehicles. Of course it is my 1971 sexy little travel trailer whose body frame appeals to him, not mine. An attitude in a man that I certainly don't mind in the least.
OK so that is my YARC application, a true story of how I met the guy I have been hanging around with for the last 16 years and the temporary on loan new guy who I met as a fix-up, friend of a friend thing. I had my everyday male friend call his house so the wife would not think another woman was after him. You got to be careful borrowing someone else's every day fix-it-man so that the other woman does not get bent out of shape over it.
