Cats are great for getting rid of mice. We were over run with field mice when we moved into the farm house years ago. Never saw one inside again after getting two cats. Still have one on the road with us now. They're great loving personalities too!

I won't tolerate rodents in/around my rig. Aside from waking me up (light sleeper), once they settle in it becomes a nightmare. We also have that hantavirus here, and I don't aim to get sick.  ..Willy.

5 years ago I used to see lots of mice, hardly anymore. I use a mousetrap. If he is nice and fat when I catch him, I throw him in a large pot, potatoes, carrots a bit of onions ummm good. lol (joking )

our solution was to place a bag of a product called Fresh Cab. you can find good prices at amazon if your local stores are not listed at the locator page.

it has a pleasant pine scent that is offensive to rodents, we've had no issues since putting them in our rig. one could probably put a bag inside a bowl stand of sorts and the area for about 15 or so feet should be a critter free zone.

a friend even places a bag in their car engine area...no more mice!

It's ironic to this thread, but: Last year I had a mouse problem at my new home base.  Even threw some poison and traps into the cabinets of my camper.  Then, my dog died (not related to poison) and I stumbled over the course of a couple months onto two new dogs, one chocolate lab pup, and the other a 5 year old red tick hound that was a bear hunter.  This year, no mice, and two happy dogs that spend their days digging in my fields.  They have cut the amount of dog food they eat by about 75% by supplementing it this way.  I haven't seen a single mouse myself in several months.  The funny part about the bear hunting dog is that when she finds one in a hole she has dug, she barks at it and sounds the alarm for me, sometimes waiting for me to see it before she eats it.  Kinda gross I know, but kinda funny too.  Seeing a 70# dog barking at a hole in the ground.  I know they each get 5-6 a day, so over the course of 3 months, that figures out to around 850 mice rofl.  The mice might need to breed faster or they will grow bored before summer.
