Doubly so "Mythical Competent county clerk", a rare male version.

There is one lone male at the Pahrump DMV. He handles the dirty outside work of VIN inspections.

Wayne, LOL! Smile

Just to clarify, I posted that not as criticism of anybody.
Owl is now on many of our Hero lists, as a Comforter of the Dying, plus is (in spirit) an Eater of Nocturnal van-chomping Rodents. Wink

I've been a Nomad for a quarter century, and a passport really is a Magical item when dealing with governmental Pakleds.
(Pakleds == a mythical Star Trek species known for their obtuseness. )

According to my auto insurance company, I must stay at least 10 months in my home state. But what they don't know can't hurt them.

That is for the rate they quoted you. If you tell them that you vacation quite often out of state that requirement would likely be dropped or the quote adjusted.

Subsequent to my post upthread about the "Mythical Competent county clerk" (henceforth: "MCCC"), I remembered another awesome encounter:
Pennington county SD, when I registered my van as a non-resident Nomad (yes, that's a legit & remarkably easy thing... provided you find a MCCC).
I barely had to say anything for the awesome clerk to grok in fullness, and do all the paperwork for me (I did have my ID, sufficient cash, the bill-of-sale & "affidavit" all ready).

Whenever I encounter one of these precious people, it renews my Hope in the future of humanity. Smile

Which "what"?!? Smile

It was a merging (in my brain) of two posts/threads...
The "eater" was in reference to your delight at my Owl vs rodent close encounter a few weeks ago.
The "chomping" was a reference to a recent thread asking about rodents chomping at van components.
I had been tempted to post that a pet owl would be a good solution, but was worried someone might try it - Owls should be Free, not captive. Smile
